Leaping Lizard Cafe in Virginia Beach

LOVE every detail about this place! I sat outside and enjoyed the breeze. Say hello to the chickens or go for a walk in the trees while your food is being prepared! Tuna melt is mouth watering! I wish I had room for dessert! I can’t wait to return!

Delicious fresh food. The tuna sandwich was delightful. The summer beverages were so refreshing. I had a blueberry mojito. The key lime pie was smooth, light, with the perfect amount of lime. The coconut cake was out of this world. Can't wait to come back.

Great food and extremely friendly service! Had the tuna melt for lunch and it was great. Loved the salad and generous slice of cantaloupe. Hostess, waitress and other staff was awesome. Nice atmosphere and vibe. Definitely going to be a regular lunch spot for me!

I visited here to pick up my order of birthday cakes. It's on the same lot as Empowered Plants Cakes. The cakes from the Empowered Plants are always fabulous; the flavor, the presentation and even texture. I can't get enough of it.

Such an adorable atmosphere! Felt like we were dining in a garden. Super friendly staff, great drinks and even better food. Can’t wait to bring out-of-town friends and family here!

This is a great spot with an excellent menu. The only reason I give this place 4 is because I noticed the quality of attentiveness/service declines when patronizing during busier times. This may seem obvious but if your checking up on other patrons more frequently and walking past our table while my water glass is empty I’m not going to assume their is nothing else behind it . Now that I type this , I’m dropping it to 3 stars. Great food though!

This One Is A Local Favorite, A Hidden Gem Located off of Shore Drive, Nicely located Near The Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Great To Grab A Bite On Your Way In Or Out Of Town. Great Dining Areas, Surrounded By Beautiful Scenery, You Can Take A Walk On The Grounds, Check Out The Garden, Chickens And Meet Zoey..The Staff Is Very Friendly, The Menu Has A Great Selection, I had The Pleasure Of Meeting The Chef, A Very Nice Young Man With Excellent Culinary Skills.. This One Needs To Be On Your List, It Is Worth Your Visit. Bon Appetit!!

The food was ok, the owner was very nice, but overall, I was not blown away. It was an interesting experience, so it's worth giving them a try. Have a blessed day...

Good service, excellent food, I dine out frequently around the Virginia Beach area, without a doubt this is top of my list, not to mention the location the backyard area under the trees, amazing

My fiancé and I went here for our two year anniversary. The food was delicious and healthy! We will definitely be planning a return in the near future. I recommend the key lime pie and the blackened salmon mac & cheese.

Sunday brunch might be a wait for 30-45 min, just sit down and relax with awesome refreshing drinks they make! Omg my sangria and blackberry mojito were outstanding! Once you get seated server was there immediately and food didn’t take long at all! It was fantastically delicious! My first time and great experience, definitely will be back!

I've been thinking about my return to the Leaping Lizard for a couple years now. We finally made it back to the Norfolk area and I couldn't wait; it was just as good as I remembered it to be! Tasty sangria and an outstanding pesto chicken sandwich. LL, how do you make such perfectly tasty food?!?!? Patio/outdoor seating is perfect for covid-times. Our server was great!

Outstanding, EVERY time. First time I found this place was from it being on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives several years ago. I've only been able to come back a few times, but every time I do, I fall in love all over again.I brought a few friends this time. Each of us got something different, and each of us loved it. I got the kimchi fried rice, which includes a tuna steak. If I were being super critical, it may have been a touch on the salty side, but I was still considering licking my plate clean. They have a wide selection of bottled beers, and large desserts.The atmosphere is small-scale coziness. We are on the covered deck, watching the free range chickens. Our server was outstanding...fast, accurate, and very helpful without being intrusive.

Quaint beach vibe. Chickens and farm to table food. Outside dining is rustic and bohemian. Food and service were terrific. Had the shrimp and grits, chicken salad sandwich, and halibut. Halibut was outstanding! All was good. P. S. Don't believe the waitress when she tells you the bloody mary isn't spicy. Would highly recommend for relaxed lunch.

Six stars for customer service! When I arrived, there was a 15 minute wait to be seated. I can’t complain because it was a Friday afternoon. We were seated in the back outdoor area but we were greeted with rain shortly after we sat down. Our server almost immediately ran to our table to bring us inside. We still managed to get a nice booth when we were relocated. The decor inside as well as the plants outside give you that Cali feeling. Extremely fast service and friendly staff.
